Monthly Contribution = Monthly Average Wage X Contribution Rate (7.09%) As the employer or nation pays 50% of the contribution, the actual contribution paid by the employee is 50% of the total.
** Amount of Monthly Income
Where the amount of income of the employee insured excluding the amount of remuneration included in the calculation of the amount of monthly remuneration (hereinafter referred to as "extra income other than remuneration") exceeds KRW 20 million per year, the amount of monthly income shall be charged according to the following formula
Additional monthly income = {(Yearly income excluding salary – 20 million KRW)/12} × income evaluation rate × contribution rate (7.09%)

1. Insurance premium reduction

Insurance premiums vary depending on residency status (visa) or region of residence. For those who fall under the following conditions, the insurance premium to be paid will be reduced by the reduction rate.

 Status of Stay

If your status qualifies for the reduction and you meet both the income requirement of KRW 3,600,000 or less and the property requirement of KRW 13,500,000 or less, the reduction is automatically applied depending on your visa (residence code).
(Expatriate and alien premium relief is based on head of household)
Religion (D-6), humanitarian grantees (G-1-6), and their families (G-1-12): 30%

**Overseas students (F-4) and expatriate students need to contact the institute directly (no relief will be applied during leave of absence)
**Excludes night colleges, Korea Broadcasting and Telecommunications University, cyber colleges, vocational training schools, and vocational training courses.
**Graduate students can obtain the date of enrollment upon submission of proof of enrollment, but insurance premium reduction is not available.
**Not applicable for households composed entirely of minors

 Area of residence

All foreign nationals (excludes households where the head of household is a minor or F-1-16 (family member of a refugee), F-2-4 (refugee)).
insular / remote areas: 50%.
Residing in a rural or semi-rural area and falling under Article 46(2) of the Implementing Rules: 22%.
Living in a rural or semi-rural area and engaged in agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry, or forestry: 28%.
In the case of insular / remote areas (50%) and rural areas (22%), the Corporation applies when the requirements are met. In the case of support for farmers and fishermen (28%) and rural reduction in green areas and semi-rural areas (22%), you must apply directly to receive insurance premium reduction. (Same as domestic subscribers)

2. Insurance premium payment

 Payment due date

Foreigners pay the next month's insurance premium in advance by the 25th of each month.

 Payment method

Automatic transfer, virtual account, bank, electronic payment, corporation branch (credit card), collection portal, etc.
**Permanent residence (F-5), marriage immigration (F-6): Korean national standards are applied, including charge of insurance premiums and payment deadlines (payment must be made by the 10th of the following month)

3. Restrictions on non-payment of insurance premiums

 Reimbursement restrictions

If you are in arrears with your insurance premium, your health insurance benefits will be restricted when using hospitals or clinics from the 1st of the month following the payment due date until payment is made.

 Restrictions on visa extension, etc.

When applying for various residence permits such as visa extension to the Ministry of Justice, you will be subject to disadvantages in terms of length of stay, etc.
If you do not pay the insurance premium on a set date, you will be reminded by a set deadline, and if you don't pay your premium by the due date, your income, property, car, savings, etc. may be subject to legal collection through a levy.
